Constitution cover from 1835
Statehood Day of Serbia is celebrated every year on February 15th and it is one of the most important dates in history of Serbia. It is the day of the First Serbian Uprising in 1804 and First Serbian Constitution in 1835 which was one of  the most modern and liberal constitutions of its time.

This year's celebration was followed by many institutional ceremonies. The major event occurred at Serbian Parliament building where President of Serbia Boris Tadic has given State decorations, Order of the Star of Karadjordje. Novak Djoković, World's best tennis player, and best sportsman of the year (by Laureus)  was one of many recipients that were honored with this prestige national decoration.

Stop ACTA - Debate in Belgrade

So we've all heard by now for  PIPA, SOPA and rest of the actions aimed to control Internet. Are they gonna make it or not, we shall see. Finaly, in Belgrade is scheduled debate on this matter. ACTA Talks or Stop ACTA debate will take place in o3one artspace tomorrow Feb 9th 19.30h. Everyone are welcome!
The host of this debate will be Serbian Pirate Party, that made some buzz because of recent events. Political parties dont show panic, but there is concern that betrayed voters will make some different choice. It's easy when they have usual political opponents, but how to deal with Pirates ?

Anyway, this debate should inform citizens of Serbia and raise the awareness about ACTA and its bad consequences.

When they need to agree TO CONTROL they do it overnight, and for GLOBAL CLIMATE ACTIONS they need more than 20 years!

Happy New Bridge Belgrade

New Ada Bridge
After almost 30 years, the new bridge arises above Belgrade. The new Ada Bridge, with its magnificent and unique pylon, rises 200m above Sava river and represents new era for citizens of Belgrade. This is one of the final steps in dealing with traffic problems. Bridge has been opened for transport in the New Year's Eve, but it still isn't fully operational. Belgrade waited for this for such a long time, people were watching this bridge growing for the last 3 years, and got pretty emotional. City of Belgrade organized fireworks for the NYE, and there were many people participating in that historical event.

Those people just can't imagine NYE without Belgrade, and of course by now, people of Belgrade consider them as locals. Also, very positive, tourists from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are coming in larger scale than before.
